1. Scope and accountability

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information handled by Mul-T-Door Inc. through multdoor.ca, telephone calls, online service forms, booking tools, advertising interactions and the delivery of residential or commercial garage door services. Mul-T-Door is responsible for personal information under its control and uses privacy practices informed by applicable Canadian private-sector privacy requirements, including the principles of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), where applicable.

This policy does not replace the privacy policies of third-party websites or services that you choose to use.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • name, telephone number, email address and service address;
  • information about the garage door problem, property type, requested service and preferred timing;
  • messages, photographs or other information you voluntarily provide;
  • call metadata and, where enabled and lawfully used, call recordings or transcriptions;
  • appointment, estimate, invoice, warranty and service-history information;
  • website activity such as IP address, browser, device, approximate location, referring page and interactions with the site;
  • advertising identifiers and campaign parameters such as GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID and UTM values;
  • payment-related information processed for an approved transaction. Payment details may be handled by the applicable payment provider.
We ask for information needed to respond to the request. Please do not submit government identification numbers, financial account credentials or unrelated sensitive personal information through a service form.

3. How we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to calls, messages and service requests;
  • confirm location, availability, scheduling and dispatch information;
  • diagnose service needs, prepare estimates and complete authorized work;
  • process payments, issue invoices and administer warranties;
  • provide customer support and maintain service records;
  • protect customers, technicians, property, systems and the business against misuse or fraud;
  • measure website performance and advertising effectiveness;
  • comply with legal, tax, insurance, safety and regulatory obligations;
  • send marketing communications only where permitted and with the required consent.

4. Service providers and disclosures

We may provide limited information to companies that help us operate the business. These may include WordPress and website-hosting providers, Elementor, Jobber or other scheduling and customer-management tools, CallRail, Google services, email and communications providers, payment processors, IT and security providers, insurers, professional advisers and technicians involved in fulfilling a service request.

Providers may process information in Canada, the United States or another jurisdiction. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws and lawful-access requirements of that jurisdiction. We do not sell personal information.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, in connection with an actual or proposed business transaction, or with your consent.

5. Cookies, Google Analytics and advertising

Our website may use cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies. These technologies may support essential site functions, remember preferences, measure traffic, identify service-form attribution and evaluate advertising campaigns.

Google Analytics may collect device and browser information, approximate geolocation, session statistics and a client identifier stored in a first-party cookie. Google Ads and related tools may use identifiers to measure conversions and, depending on configuration and consent, support advertising. You can control cookies through your browser and any cookie-consent controls presented on the site. Blocking some cookies may affect site functionality.

Learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

6. Telephone calls and CallRail

Mul-T-Door uses CallRail or similar call-tracking technology to understand which advertising or website source generated a call and to manage customer communications. Call tracking may involve dynamically displayed telephone numbers and may collect the caller’s number, call time, duration, routing information, campaign source and related metadata.

Calls may be recorded or transcribed where that functionality is enabled and where permitted by applicable law. When recording is used, an appropriate notice should be provided before or at the beginning of the recording. Call information is used for service delivery, training, quality assurance, dispute resolution, security and advertising measurement.

By submitting a service form, calling us or requesting an appointment, you authorize communications reasonably necessary to respond to and administer that request. A service request is not automatically consent to unrelated promotional messages.

Where required, promotional emails or text messages will be sent with consent and will include the identification and unsubscribe information required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You may withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe method provided or by contacting us. Transactional and service-related communications may still be sent when necessary.

8. Retention and safeguards

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including service, warranty, accounting, tax, insurance, security and legal requirements. Retention periods vary by record type and applicable obligation.

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No website, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a privacy breach occurs, we will assess and respond to it as required by applicable law.

9. Access, correction and privacy choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask for correction of inaccurate information, withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis, or raise a question about our privacy practices. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Legal exceptions may limit access or deletion in some circumstances.

You can also disable cookies in your browser, use available consent controls, adjust Google advertising settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

10. Children, external links and policy changes

Our services are intended for property owners, occupants and authorized business representatives, not children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children through this website.

Our site may link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We may update this policy when our services, technologies or legal obligations change. The updated effective date will appear at the top of this page.
